WEEDS!

So, to my delight? it was yard work day. Chad took the mowing and trimming, I took the weeding and raking. Now while it might sound pretty easy, let me tell you a couple of things. 1. It felt like 100 degrees while I was bent over in the sun (even though I think it was only 80) 2. Our yard is a world class breeding ground for weeds of all shapes and sizes (little "cute" green ones that almost seem endless and pointless, huge bunches of tall grain looking ones, and lastly hard branch-like sticks in the ground that at one point could have been little trees but no matter how hard you pull these stick ones always win!) I'm not even taking any pictures just yet, or maybe I should do a before and after- k maybe I will put up a picture but anyway it's a work in progress.

My friend Ashley just "tagged" me to write wierd things about myself that no one would know so here goes:
-I dislike univited kids playing in my yard, I know that sounds really mean but the neighboorhood kids in my cul-de-sac are a lot older and more wild than I would like.
-I ate like 2 lbs. of strawberries today, I have a sickness where I can't let any food go bad and since these strawberries weren't eaten up by my family I devoured them.

-I could shop for Lily everyday, but when it comes to myself I can not do it (clothes I mean)-I've really tried to figure this one out and I still haven't, but maybe it has something to do with her looking cute in everything and me, well not so much.
-I always get really excited about stuff and then after I do it so much I get sick of it (i.e. tivo, garage sales, ebay, having a cleaning system for my house, cooking, working out, dream dinners, etc.)
-I think I'm a little paranoid about thinking I might be pregnant. Not that it would be a bad thing, I'm just a big planner, so having a baby unexpectedly would definately throw me for a loop, I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun-I mean I would have nine months to get ready I guess.
-I've always been pretty confident in myself- don't ask me why ( I got braces late, didn't kiss a boy until I was 17, am horrible at sports other than dancing, am not really funny, and can't really do anything extraordinarily well) but from the time I was little I just thought I was a pretty neat person. At three I got up in front of everyone in a cable car in San Fransisco and started belting out "I left my heart in San Fransisco". I guess we are just born with certain feelings about ourselves.
-I collect fortunes from fortune cookies.

Busy Day!

So I think yesterday was the busiest day I've had in a long time, which may tell you how much life has slowed down for me since I became a mommy. After returning a library book on the way home, I put Lily down for her nap. Half an hour later I had to go visiting teaching, so I left my baby monitor with my next door neighbor (I promise this is okay, she's a good friend and we've tested the monitor several times before, Lily always sleeps for at least an hour, and I was VT only a few houses down the street). After Lily woke up we went and got lunch for my friend Lisa and brought it to her to visit and see her brand new baby Sawyer, so CUTE! After an hour there we raced over to my other friend Ashley's house to do some very important work. Four of us friends were splitting a stack of scrapbook paper from Costco and Ashley and I had the very difficult task of dividing up evenly and in coordinating stacks the 360 sheets of paper! So fun! After an hour and a half there we swung by Harmon's to return a little chair I had gotten for Lily that she broke within an hour of getting, and picked up drinks for my Bunko group. Then we stopped at the house to pack up Lily's bag, dinner, change her into pajamas, and load tutus. On our way to the freeway we stopped by Nicolle's house to drop off the drinks for Bunko (which I unfortunately had to miss) and we were on our way to Bountiful. After an hour and fifteen minutes in rush hour traffic, we got to Grandma's house where Lily played with Grandma and Aunt Diane while I went to sell some tutus at a jewelry party. After getting lost with my mapquest directions and asking a few local residents, I got to the party at 6:40, sold 4 tutus then drove back to Grandma's house. We left at 8:00 and made it home around 9:00, where Lily was so excited to be out of the carseat and to see her daddy she was absolutely giddy. After hearing about Chad's softball game- they won!!- I jumped in the shower, put Lily to bed, and while Chad did the dishes and picked up the house I had just enough time to read one chapter of my book and then collapsed into a sleep coma! I know that was probably my most boring blog to date but seriously such an eventful day is rare, so I thought I'd share. Lily was such an angel too, what a trooper to put up with such a crazy mom!

Some new pages

Okay so my scanner only fits like an 8 x 12 page and mine are 12 x 12 but here are some anyway. I think I want to start learning more about digital scrapbooking, after I use up all my stuff I already have that is.

Scrapbooking!

Okay- So I just got over 300 pictures from Christmas up to March developed and after making a trip to get a few supplies at my favorite scrapbooking stores, I'm in for some intense weeks of scrappin'! I'm just letting anyone know in case they are wondering where I am or what I'm doing, and if you want to come join me please do! Not much is new besides my new calling in the Primary (teaching the six year olds) and Chad's softball team had their first game (it was a close one but I won't mention the score). We are looking foreward to some nicer weather soon so Lily and I can return to our daily treks to the park. Oh, I did finish my first book club book this year and it was AMAZING! I highly recommend it if you are interested, it's called The Infinite Atonement by Tad R. Callister. Our next book is Night by Ellie Wiezel, which I haven't started yet, and I just finished A Named Zippy by Haven Kimmel, very funny childhood recollections from a small town in Indiana (thanks for letting me borrow the book Mom). I'll try to scan in some scrapbook pages as I go.

The three amigas

Here they are Kylee, Kamay and Lily. Three little friends at Kylee's 1st birthday party! They are just too cute, and have some serioulsy proud mamas! I included so many pictures because these wiggle worms didn't want to stay posed for the picture, so I think each one has a good shot of at least one girl. I am so glad to have such good friends, and it's such fun to watch our girls grow and play together.

Ahhh. . .Books!

So I just finished reading A Thomas Jefferson Education, and it has reinspired me to read more, and re-read classics. So I found this free website called paperbackswap.com where you trade books with people, and if you're like me you have a ton of old books from school, or garage sales that you have already read or never got around to reading them. Anyway you just post the books you have that you are willing to give away (not ones that you want to get back) and people can search them and then you send it to them and every time you send a book you get a credit to recieve a book from someone else. Make any sense? So I already sent a book from my BYU spanish class I still had, and a novel called Passages that I never got into, and am being sent One Hundred Years of Solitude, What to Expect the Toddler Years, and The Nanny Diaries (recommended by Ann). Anyway just thought I would let everyone know, especially my mom and her sisters who already have their own little paperbackswap thing going on. The book I'm tackling right now, You: On a Diet, because goodness knows I love a good health book!
