Arizona Fun

Lily with her Uncle Zack and new stuffed doggy she found at grandma's.

Jumping on the trampoline with Uncles Jordan and Zack ready to catch this daredevil as she got too close to the sides!

This was so funny, after it had rained one day we went outside and Lily was having so much fun playing in the puddles left on the patio, then after jumping in them I guess she got thirsty because all of a sudden she started drinking from the puddle. I tried to stop her several times but she just kept doing it.
This is her coughing after I think she got some dirt in her mouth, from drinking the rain puddle.
This isn't from AZ but Lily now does a great dog impression full off panting, barking, and sticking her tongue way out of her mouth and crawling around trying to lick you.

This is Lily playing with Carter one of my best friends Rachel's little boy, at my parent's house. After our Best Friends Retreat we met Rachel's mom who came to bring Carter back up and we all had lunch, babies, mommies, and grandmas!
Splashing and stomping in the puddle

Rachel, my very talented friend did both Ann and my hair one night, color and cuts! And to top it off she is three months pregnant, hence the sitting in the chair instead of standing up, she was such a trooper because between Ann and I we have a lot of hair.
Jess and Rachel. This is one of my oldest friends ever, we've been best friends for over 11 years now. She lives in AZ with her husband and cute 1yr. old boy Carter and is expecting again due in November.
Annie and Jess. This is my other best friend from High School, we made up the three amigos, and have been having our retreats for the past five years. Now Ann goes to Law School in Virginia and is crazy smart!
Lily had so much fun with my parents and brothers I really don't think she missed me at all, and trust me I was worried because it was the first time I had been away from her for more than a few hours. They took her on walks, to a primary talent show where she didn't want to get off the stage, and played with all the "new" toys at Grandma and Grandpa's house that Lily hadn't seen before. Chad called her everyday and my mom said that as soon as she heard her dad's voice she lit up and just started jabbering on and on. So funny! I hope that doesn't make me seem like I wasn't missing my girl because I didn't call her but I think it was definately harder on Chad than me. But we both had fun and were that much happier to see each other after a couple of days.
We had so much fun together mostly talking and eating and shopping. I can already not wait until next year. Oh just for anyone interested the book I just read, The Kite Runner was very powerful and moving, I would recommend it definately!

Wow, I haven't posted in a while but we were gone for a week to Arizona and then catching up with stuff when we got back, so here is a little catch up with what we've been doing. Chad's softball games have been so fun, even though last weekend he really hurt his back and has been going to the chiropractor all week so we don't know when he'll be able to play again. The weather has been soooooo nice lately that Lily and I have been outside more, and gone on some walks with friends up the canyon, and to the park. Mother's Day was great, I got some very thoughfelt cards from Chad and Lily, a yummy homemade dinner from Chad, fun money to spend with my girlfriends in AZ, and a sweet hug and Loud Kiss from Lily (She makes this exaggerated Mmmmm... sound to pucker her lips up). I am just going to do a seperate post about AZ since I have so many pictures, but that's us lately

Running after a dog she saw across the park, she is getting almost too fast for me to catch up!
Playing in the grass at the park up the canyon.

Striking a pose for me
With my mother's day card that daddy helped her to draw a "picture" on, she was so proud and didn't really want to give it up but she did anyway.

This is our cutie girl on Mother's Day all dolled up for church, with her new head scarf from Naartjie.

Lily at Dad's softball game, wishing she could be out there too!
At lunch with Dad on a beautiful spring day
Checking out Jeff and Leslie's dog Macie, she is so into dogs right now I think Macie is her new favorite person.

We Made it!

After a rough couple of flights, Lily and I made it to Arizona where we are visiting for the week. Well, actually Lily is getting to hang out with my parents and little brothers, while my two best friends from High School and I do our annual Best Friends Retreat for a few days. Our flight was at 7:15 AM, which I thought would be good because Lily would sleep and the flight would be less crowded since it was one of the first for the day. Wow, was I wrong! We had to leave our house at 5:00 to get to the airport and when I got there the security line was the longest I had ever seen it, clear down to the second baggage carosel. Then the flight was so packed I sat next to two guys, luckily I had the ailse, and Lily was not happy to be confined to my lap for an hour and a half. Finally with about 20 minutes left of the flight, and after I ran out of books and stickers and she was done snacking and crying, she fell asleep sitting up in my lap (I was so thankful for this sweet moment of peace). Then as soon as we got off the plane she was her happy self exploring the airport, and then the next flight was way better. It was a smaller plane and not full so Lily and I had a two-seat ailse to our selves, where she played peek-a-boo with the nice old lady behind us and then quietly sat looking out the window leaning on her stuffed hippo going "Mmmmmmmmmmm". We are so excited to be here even though we will miss Chad desperately, and now that Lily is napping I am going to go and join her.

More Tutus

Yay, I'm so excited because my mom just sent up four new tutus, and they are all so different and so cute I'm having a really hard time now deciding which is my favorite. There is a Dark and Light Purple one with little purple pansies on them, a gorgeous deep blue one with white little flowers and white ribbon trim, a funky hot pink and orange one with little pink flowers and the cutest orange/pink stripe trim, and then another with hot pink and dark pink tulle and little pink butterflies and pink ribbon with white polka dots. Don't worry pictures are coming soon, but my little model wasn't in the mood today.

Girls Night Out

So Last night I had the most fun with my college friends. We are all so busy with school, families, work, and life that we don't get to see each other all that often, so thanks to the push from Sheryl, she, Kristi, Katie and I went out to dinner last night. We went to Bucca de Beppo? (I'm not exactly sure what the name is) from Kristi's reccomendation and it was oh so yummy! We got garlic bread, apple gorgonzola salad, a garlicy cheese chicken, and a traditional sampler with ravioli and manacotti. So after catching up with what's new, talking about people we used to know, and laughing at some of the silly things we do, and finally after letting our tummies digest all that healthy food, we went to McDonalds for some ice cream. I love that we love food! At the swanky, modern McDonalds (serioulsy it was decorated very nicely and cleaner than any McDonalds I've ever seen) we chatted about books we've read, our fav. American Idols, and then alas- 2 1/2 hours had passed and we had to go. But, not without a resolution to do this every month and even with plans to do an overnight trip in July and we're all going to start blogging! Yeah! So I promised Kristi I would come home and post about our night and even include the silly pictures we took at the restaurant, so here's to the girls. I love having good friends that no matter what happens, or where you go whenever you get together you always pick up right where you left off.
