Goodbye baby bump!

So after my appointment this morning my doc and I decided tomorrow is as good as any day, so I am officially doing it tomorrow! I am still in shock kind of, and I have a million little things left to do but I don't think I will ever feel completely ready. Chad laughs at me because I act like the world is coming to an end, but in a way life as I now know it sort of is, and it's exciting and scary, but mostly I will just miss my days with miss Lily being my only one. Lately she has gotten into the habit of climbing up onto her dresser when she wakes up in the morning and getting all her rings, bracelets, necklaces, and hair clips on before announcing to us that she is awake! And I can only convince her to take half of it off before we leave the house, so she has been looking very fancy lately. She has been talking about the baby a lot lately, how she is going to hold her and kiss her and hug her, so I think she does get it, and even though it will still be a drastic change to her little world I am so excited for her to meet her sister. I never had a sister so I think I am especially happy that Lily will have this close friend for life. Anyway, if you can't tell the pic above is of my view looking down, and I have to say it will be nice to see my feet again and be able to bend over without feeling a little seasick. So anyway tomorrow morning at 7:15 we are having our girl, and I'm sure Chad will post pictures as soon as he can.

No News!

So at my 38 week appt. today my doctor said, and I quote "the baby is way up there in Ogden!" and I am not thinning or dialated at all. Zero, zippo! All this extra walking hasn't done the trick so far, but I'm not giving up. I hate to admit that the less promising I look the more enticing my scheduled c-section next week is looking because my doctor reminded me today that he won't induce me because of the previous section, and if I do go into labor they will give me less time than before to get progressing before they would do a section just because it's too risky. Either way I am just happy to know that I won't be pregnant too much longer, and this is so weird to say but I want to have the baby so I can sleep again. I know it's usually the opposite but I am so uncomfortable at night and have to go to the bathroom every couple of hours I feel like I am on a new baby schedule almost. That said, I'm excited for the surprises the next few weeks hold in store for our family.

For Grandma

She loves the dresses my mom made her after hearing that she was in a dress-only phase and I was running out of clean dresses to keep up with her habit.
Her Favorite things: blankey, binkey, and babies!

The new swimming suit, which she also now takes baths in every night because she LOVES it!

The ZOO

Last Saturday, thanks to our fun friends the Pelissie's, we made it to the zoo for the first time this year. It was funny to see Lily half of the time looking at the animals and the other half cleaning her stroller with a baby wipe. But I think her favorites were the giraffes because there was a baby one, and she loved the statue of the tigers that she could sit on outside the big cat exhibit. As you can see by the pictures, she wanted to get up close and see things better so thankfully Daddy was there to do all the heavy lifting.

Pretty Nails

Her first pedi/mani by mom. Which she calls "paint nails"

Baby Shower

Thanks to good friends for such a fun time, and thoughtful gifts! Of course food was yummy at Pizza Factory, especially the breadsticks, and I so enjoyed a night out with my girlies!

The funniest thing was after I got home Lily wanted to see all the gifts for baby Ella, and when I showed her a purple dress that was a 12 month size she said "oh my dress". After trying to explain that it was for the baby when she got a little bigger, Lily still would not have it and insisted that it was for a big girl, so I let her put it on and she went to bed in it, silly girl!

BFR 2008

So this year was our 6th annual Best Friends Retreat, where two of my very best friends from way back in the high school days. They were kind enough to come here this year to be with big ole me, and we had way too much fun. I won't get to it all but we shopped, dined, watched movies, did hair, shared our favorite things, and laughed so hard I thought I would go into labor! And it shows how much I love them by posting pictures of my chipmunk cheeks because I want everyone else to see how cute they are. Can't wait for next year girls!

New Hair Cut

So thanks to my wonderful and talented Best Friend Rachel, I have a completely new do! It was soooooo time for a change and I really like it, mostly because I can actually style it everyday instead of throwing it up in a ponytail. Thanks again Rache, love ya! (And if you can't tell yet, I can't take a picture without Lily wanting me to hold her)

Prego Pics

K Sheryl these are for you, and just know that I wouldn't do this for anyone else but you are persistent. Anyway 3 or 4 weeks to go! Wahoo!

Yep, she's my girl!

Okay so this is just a little funny story but I don't want to forget it so I'm writing it down. Well, today I had to run into the Library (always hard to do because books are just so enticing to pull down off all the shelves) for a sec. While I was talking to the librarian about something, Lily managed to find a little table, stood up on it (wearing her tutu, yeah it was one of those days) and began belting and using dramatic arm gestures "La la la, la la la, lalala, ah ah ah!. . . ." It was pretty funny and people walking by kept stopping and watching her and then starting to laugh because she was so into it. Plus it's hard not to notice a very loud 2 year old in a library. Anyway, as I'm thinking to myself "where does she get this stuff?" I was reminded of a story my parents tell me: when I was three years old they took me on a cable car ride in San Fransisco and all of a sudden without any prompting from my parents I stand up on a seat and start belting the song "I left my heart in San Fransisco". I knew all the words because my dad sang me to sleep with it, and when it was over I got a round of applause from all the passengers. After the applause I started it up again and thankfully my parents then intervened. Anyway, it was just a little reminder moment to me of how alike Lily is to me when I was little and how even though she is crazy and a bit demanding, I turned out okay so hopefully I can just be as patient as my parents were.

A few other things she's doing at 2 years and 3 months:
-Everyday demands to wear a "pretty dress" and then if ANYTHING gets on it she has to have a new dress put on
-Tells everyone "Silence!"
-Has me refer to her as "Majesty" or "princess"
-Repeats everything we say, including mishaps like "Oh crap!" and "What an idoit" (in the car)
-Always wants lipstick or makeup
-Puts all her toys in time-outs and tells them they're naughty
-Takes such good care of her babies, including singing to them and wiping their bottoms
-Says everyday, "I'm a princess Mom"

Tulip Festival

So this year we went to the Tulip Festival a couple of times, the first with friends and the second with some sisters in my R.S. It was beautiful and I think Lily had a blast smelling and sighting all kinds of flowers.
