Crazy Couple of Weeks

Lily Putting on her "lips" (chapstick is her new fav. thing she finds mine and steals it as quick as she can and eats as much as she can before I can find her), eating snow cones at the pool, and playing frisbee at the park
Lily loving Daddy, Park city girls trip, and Lily and Mommy in matching aprons my mom made us for my birthday.

Okay so no I'm not dead, just having a fun, and very busy summer! I feel like my days are way too short to fit in all that needs to be done and the past couple of weeks have been full of painting (still), cleaning (our basement apartment renter moved out and there is lots to be done), playing (lots of pool trips, Good Things Utah, lunch dates, and a BYU girl's Park City trip, entertaining (my mom and two of my brothers came up for a week and a half), and my little Lily bug! I'm not going to blog about everything but here are some highlights (at least the ones I remembered my camera for).

Life With Lily

On Sunday Dad put Lily's monkey around her back and she thought this was the coolest thing. She walked everywhere with it and even started her "eee eee eee" monkey sounds. One thing for sure there is never a dull moment with her these days!

This is her beloved "piggy"! I got her this piggy bank a while ago with the intent of decorating it, but when I opened her closet the other day and she saw it, she wouldn't stop whining until I got it out. So yesterday we put all of our loose change in it because I thought she would have fun putting the coins into his back, which after a few unseuccesful tries, she finally got it! Now ever since then I've had it up on her shelf and she wakes up every morning and from her naps wanting to give it kisses. Well this morning after deciding a kiss wasn't going to be enough she wanted to hold it. I was a little wary because it's so heavy and breakable but gave it to her for a sec so she could give it a hug. Then after adding a few more coin "foods" to its tummy I went to put it back on the shelf and as soon as I did "Bang!". The shelf that was holding it fell and the piggy bank broke up into several pieces. Well, as you can imagine Lily lost it and it was all I could do to distract her with The little mermaid while I vacuumed it up. So, I guess I'm on the lookout for a new piggy bank, and now know that the little shelves on her walls are suitable for stuffed animals only.

Talking on the phone, like always. It's so funny because she loves to pretend to call people but whenever I put my mom or Chad up to talk to her for real she just walks away.
The new joy of stacking things
This is Lily in the cute tutu my mom made her for 4th of July. She was very intent in plucking out all of the shimmery threads of the little pom poms.

Outside with her shades, in our culdesac for the BBQ.
Our neighbors rented a blow-up jumping house and Lily was in heaven, as you can clearly see from her face as she's about to go in it.

Inside the Jumping thing.
After a few hours of playing outside, both she and Chad were caught like this when I came back in the house to see where they went. Lily slept for a couple of hours and then woke up for fireworks after dark!
Fear, a Yawn, or Awe? I'm not sure what this face is saying but it sure is funny. As soon as I brought her outside after she woke up she started yelling and pointing and saying "wow"!

LilyRose Tutus

Yesterday I decided I needed some fresh pics of tutus for some advertising, so Lily posed and I didn't think I got any good ones, but after looking through and editing them I was happy to discover these. My friend Ashley helped with the final editing.

Our 4th Anniversary!

A white chocolate swan filled with rasberries, left in our room with roses
After dinner we came back to our room set up perfectly complete with a turned down bed, low lights, and chocolates next to the pillow!
The robes laid out for us, kind of silly but I wouldn't mind being treated like this permanantly (Chad?), by the way I had Chad take specific note of the robe because it was the softest thing ever and I now want one for Christmas.

The room, I know I have a lot of pics, but I just loved it, the room had such a calming influence, and I want to recreate it so I took pictures so I wouldn't forget
The marble bathroom
After we came back to our room from the spa this was sitting on the table and our room was picked up! What I wouldn't give for this service to come to my house.

Flowers from Chad
The View from our room on the 18th floor
The sitting room, so elegant, Chad and I loved the wallpaper, it was the perfect mix between blue and green and we want to find it for our room

Wow, we've come a long way in four years, from college and basement apartments to having a one year old and owning a home! I'm so happy and lucky to have such a great guy by my side through it all. Thanks so the Lemons for watching Lily, Chad surprised me on Friday by taking me to the big city. We stayed in a suite at the Grand America (the only 5 diamond hotel in the state), got fabulous massages in the spa, ate to our heart's (and stomach's) content at the hotel restaurant and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (YUM!), and slept in until 10:00! I seriously felt like we were in another place far away, it was so beautiful with the gardens and pools, and fancy decor & chandeliers. It was a great break for us with some well needed relaxation without the responsibility of chasing Lily. What's funny though is that within the first hour of being there, we found the only children's store in the boutique at the hotel and bought Lily some sunglasses (her new fav. thing), a light up musical ball, and a little baby. I guess we can never really get her out of our mind completely, nor do we want to. Anyway, the only bad thing I can say is that I hate having to wait another year for the next anniversary!

Happy Father's Day Chad!

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
I just have to say how lucky I am to have such an amazing, caring, sweet, funny, hardworking, and loving Dad for my children. Lily has always been just enthralled in whatever Chad is doing, she can't get enough of him and lights up whenever she sees him. So, thanks Babe for being the best dad for Lily, I love you. And I have to say I was lucky enough to know what a good dad was because of the example my dad is for me. Wow, Dads are just GREAT what more can I say!

So You Think You Can Dance?

K- So I just have to rave about my most favorite reality show ever! If you haven't seen it yet, you are sadly deprived, because it is AWESOME! I sound like some crazy person, but seriously beyond Grey's Anatomy it might be my favorite show ever. And tonight they showed the top 20 perform, I just watched the 2 hour show, voted and plan on watching my favorite performances again tomorrow. My favorites were the 2nd one with the russian girl and the black guy where they did the lindy hop or jive thing, the 3rd one where lacy and the mohawk guy did the amazing contemporary piece, and the broadway one at the end was so much fun. Ever since I was a little girl and started dancing up through high school I think I always secretly dreamed that I would become a famous dancer someday, so I guess watching this show is my vicarious experience of that dream, I know that sounds wierd, but oh well. The choreographer on the show named wade was actually an instructor at a convention I went to in Vegas when I was in High school, so I'm totally connected in some deep way. Ha! Anyway, watch the show. My only hope now is that Lily will dance too so I can get into that world all over again, but I promise I'm not one of those controlling stage moms, I just think it would be fun!
