Harmon Family Reunion

Everyone gathered for dinner at a park up the canyon, it was overcast and perfect except for the carnivorous flies that wanted to eat the KFC.

For 3 days in July my Dad and all his siblings and mom congregated in Provo for a family reunion. They came from North Carolina, New Hampshire, California, Washington, and Arizona. It was so much fun to see everyone and thier kids getting so big. Festivities included: FHE, Rock Band, climbing Mt. Timp, walking with babies, swimming, dinner up the canyon, girls lunch at Macaroni Grill, boys night out dinner and "Dark Knight", and just chatting our lips off.

Lily's newest acquisition to her ever growing stuffed animal collection is a little white kitty named Lily (of course, she names every baby and animal after herself with the occasional Ella, Kylie, and Emma thrown in). She has been sleeping with her for the past few nights, I love the novelty of something new. P.S. I haven't bought her a stuffed animal ever, don't ask me how we've acquired 30! This one was finagled out of Dad while on an outing to the BYU bookstore.

Goodness, I love these girlies!
Ella is getting so chunky I love it! At her 2 month check-up she weighed 13 lbs. 13 oz. and was 24 in. long, another 90th percentile baby just like her sister! Lily asked me the other day, "Mom what are these squishy stuff?" talking about the rolls on Ella's legs because I always rub lotion on her after her bath and pinch all her cute chub. She also says whenever Ella starts to talk, "Mom she's talkin' to me!"
And Lily has grown up so much lately I just want to freeze her so she can't get any bigger. Watching her walk over to our next door neighbor's house so she can "go play" is weird because she seems too little, and she is now wearing big girl underwear, and gave all her binkies to the "Binky Fairy" so she could give them to the babies who need them. My favorite thing she says lately to is "Mom. I love you." and "Mom. You are my best friend." I know it won't always be this way but I love being her best friend too.

Ella's Blessing

What a great day this was, thanks to all our family for coming from all over Utah, Arizona, and even Washington! It was such a peaceful feeling to know Ella is here and healthy and blessed to be surrounded by so many people who adore her. She is growing so fast and each new smile and coo are enjoyed so much more this time around because I know how fast this baby time goes by.

Potty Training

Wahoo! We are finally doing this! And all it took after failed attempts by me including bribes of Dolls, and buying princess panties, all it took was a ton of candy that Grandma Martin bought for her, and ONLY her! We've been "training" for about 2 weeks now, and even though sometimes I want to scream after her peeing in her carseat twice and Ella's once (those things are not easy to take all apart, wash, and put back together) and having some accidents in public that were not fun (Chilis, she was sitting next to me and it all ran toward my pants and soaked them). BUT, we are getting the hang of it, and I say 'we' because I have to always remember to pack extra supplies in my diaper bag and remember to put her on the potty about every hour or so. I am so proud of my big girl and all the growing up she's done lately. P.S. Starburst are her "pee treats" and Kit Kats are her "poop treats", and I don't think I will ever look at that candy the same way.

My old stuff

As we've been getting out more of Lily's old baby stuff, some things have been harder for her to part with than others. For example this 3-6 month size onesie says "P is for princess" so Lily said "No Mom that's still for me" and insisted on wearing it for the rest of the day. The carseat too has become her favorite lounge chair. We haven't even attempted to give Ella most of the baby toys because as Lily has insistently told us "Ella doesn't need any toys shes too tiny"
