What's happening in our lives

Yesterday I decided I needed some fresh pics of tutus for some advertising, so Lily posed and I didn't think I got any good ones, but after looking through and editing them I was happy to discover these. My friend Ashley helped with the final editing.

A white chocolate swan filled with rasberries, left in our room with roses
After dinner we came back to our room set up perfectly complete with a turned down bed, low lights, and chocolates next to the pillow!
The robes laid out for us, kind of silly but I wouldn't mind being treated like this permanantly (Chad?), by the way I had Chad take specific note of the robe because it was the softest thing ever and I now want one for Christmas.

I just have to say how lucky I am to have such an amazing, caring, sweet, funny, hardworking, and loving Dad for my children. Lily has always been just enthralled in whatever Chad is doing, she can't get enough of him and lights up whenever she sees him. So, thanks Babe for being the best dad for Lily, I love you. And I have to say I was lucky enough to know what a good dad was because of the example my dad is for me. Wow, Dads are just GREAT what more can I say!

K- So I just have to rave about my most favorite reality show ever! If you haven't seen it yet, you are sadly deprived, because it is AWESOME! I sound like some crazy person, but seriously beyond Grey's Anatomy it might be my favorite show ever. And tonight they showed the top 20 perform, I just watched the 2 hour show, voted and plan on watching my favorite performances again tomorrow. My favorites were the 2nd one with the russian girl and the black guy where they did the lindy hop or jive thing, the 3rd one where lacy and the mohawk guy did the amazing contemporary piece, and the broadway one at the end was so much fun. Ever since I was a little girl and started dancing up through high school I think I always secretly dreamed that I would become a famous dancer someday, so I guess watching this show is my vicarious experience of that dream, I know that sounds wierd, but oh well. The choreographer on the show named wade was actually an instructor at a convention I went to in Vegas when I was in High school, so I'm totally connected in some deep way. Ha! Anyway, watch the show. My only hope now is that Lily will dance too so I can get into that world all over again, but I promise I'm not one of those controlling stage moms, I just think it would be fun!

K- So I haven't been posting as much lately, but I love how busy the days get in the summertime! We had a great trip to Az again to see my oldest younger brother graduate from high school, and are sooooo excited that he's coming up here to college in the Fall! He says he will gladly babysit for food and laundry, so I'm thrilled!!! Lately I have finally started doing some home decor projects that I've been planning since we moved in. So last Tuesday I picked out paint and started painting our (Chad's) office. We picked a really deep red called Bordeaux for the top part and a dark brown called Black Walnut for the bottom and trip. We really want to have some high beadboard around the bottom of the walls almost upto eye level and then a wrap around biult in shelf for fun nic-nacks, but so far I haven't found any tall enough because I think it would look wierd to stack two on top of each other, I've only tries Lowes and Home Depot is next but if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Then I got the idea to paint all me bedroom furniture black and the walls a deep jewel tone green. Chad and I looked at a lot of swatches but I think decided to nix the green walls and just do the black furniture and use green as an accent! So I got spray paint because after talking to the guys in the paint store and realizing I did not want to but a compressor or paint sprayer, I thought the spray paint was the best way to go and I'm very familiar with the cans from my garage sale turning trash into better trash days. ANYWAY, our bed is pretty big and not fun to take apart so I decided to just leave it in our bedroom and cover everything up with tarps and open the windows and turn on the fans. Well, it started out okay except this was the day it became winter again so Chad and I were freezing, getting high off the paint fumes and I started to notice everything in the room was getting a black film on it. SOOO, as of today Chad and I are camped out downstairs in the guest room while our bed is in pieces. I wanted to get it all done today but, alas, too much other stuff going on. And the office, well it's done with the red stuff as far as I can reach on the ladder anyway, so the rest is up to chad and then we will start on the brown part. I probably bit off a little more than I can handle but oh well, at least its started. Plus we found out that our basement apt. renter is getting married and moving out at the end of this month, so we are going to be able to use the other half of our basement now too! I think Chad and I came to a compromise in that he gets a room for excercise stuff and I get a room for scrapbooking and crafts and we can both use the family room for a theater/game room. AHHH more projects to come. I have to finish my primary lesson now but I will post pics tomorrow of the projects, of course Lily girl, and the shower and birthday party we went to today!
