Valentin'es Day

Quick recap:

In the tradition of my Dad always getting flowers for me, Chad got the girls pink carnations. They loved them so much and I love passing on something to my kids that made me feel so special growing up.

Breakfast was eggo waffles, heart shapes cut out, red homemade syrup, strawberries and cream. YUM

Lunch was Nachos & Guac (Lily's Fav) & root beer, Dinner- Cafe rio & doughnuts!

Friends came to play

ALL day the girls kept telling me "we have a surprise for you, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!" and they kept telling me they would let me be their special valentine or secret admirer.

Made school valentines for class (homemade vintage hearts) including: Indie, Ryder, Coty, Chloe, Mia, Britton, London, Janie, Cade, Chance, and Dylan.

This dark haired angel was Lily's Favorite and she made herself a valentine with it!
Then made them for neighbor friends: Ashlyn, Tanner, Emma, Miles, Pyper, Oakley, Curtis, Laura, Charlotte, Racheal, Ruby, Berlin, Jace, Andee, Steele, Liam and Saffrin. While writing the names Lily started rhyming everything, she was soo funny. Some examples of what she was having me write in the cards "Whatever you say, I'll mail you a bouquet" "I like your eyes of Blue, and I love you" and just for fun "I hope you see a rainbow" We drove around the neighborhood delivering them with cookies.

A rest after a hard day's work of signing all her valentines herself!
My own valentine Chad had to work till 8 but sent me cute texts all day, then when he got home we watched The Social Network together, interesting movie, kind of went along with the book I'm reading right now called Outliers. I LOVE my VALENTINES!

Rest of February

So a bunch of randomly cute stuff from the rest of February.

Including some silly girls hiding in the bookcase

The last free zoo day of the Winter we finally made it up there. It was great, cold but not crowded and the girls had a blast feeding the ducks and swan

Never seen this playground deserted
Lily is a bit OBSESSED with Peacocks lately so after the first sighting of the day she was VERY HAPPY!

Wow the colors on this guy are gorgeous, someday when we have another room to decorate for her, I think a peacock inspired room would be fabulous.

Ella's favorite right now is the GIRAFFE. She was tickled pink to see them so up close.

A quick pick before storytime at the library.

Early February

The girls got really into their fort making skills this month

My grandpa Wilson passed away on Feb. 2nd and so my family all came up the next day and it was great to spend time with them even though the circumstances were so sad. I was so grateful I got to go and visit my grandpa in the hospital the night before he died. I got to tell him how much I loved him and how grateful I was that he lived such a good life and was such a good father to my mom and that impacted my life so much. He was an amazing, faithful, loving, kind person who I always loved going to visit because of his warm hugs, listening ear and peaceful wisdom. He always loved to garden and would frequently send us home with tomatoes, squash, even peaches from his yard, and growing up his specialty was his homemade caramel and turtles he made for everyone to enjoy. He loved serving in the temple and as a bishop while my mom was growing up and was a great example to me of what a faithful servant looked like. I loved so many things about him, but mostly I loved watching how much he loved my grandma. Even my girls loved going up to Bountiful to visit my grandparents and loved to go sit on his lap, or just watch an old movie with him in his tv room. He will be missed so much but I am so grateful for the gospel which teaches me that I will see him again one day and that I'll always be his granddaughter.
Ella sure loves her uncle Zack and all the attention he gives her.
After the funeral I grabbed a couple of pictures of these great guys. I'm so glad that I did now because my dad has since had some health problems and so I'm not sure when I'll get to go see him again, but this day he rode up to Eden with me and we got to have a good talk in the car. I love spending those moments with my Dad because he lives so far away and I definitely don't get enough of them.
My girls LOVE their PAPA

Lily was so cute and wanted to sit right by my grandma the whole time and she kept asking her "If grandpa was going to be ok?"

All the girls took a carnation from the arrangement on the casket, this is Sadee my cousin's daughter who my girls LOVE to play with

My aunt Diane holding my other cousin's new baby Quinn, the cutest baby boy ever

Before my mom went home, the girls staged a "play" with her as narrator. The play was basically about a mermaid and a ladybug who became friends, the end.
My girls are soooooo LUCKY to have her as a grandma!
