Girls Nights

Lisa, Stephanie, Me, Lindy, Meggan, Janei'a
Ahhh, I love girls nights. They are so fun and bring back a side of me that is sometimes not seen in the everyday mommyworld. Sheryl, one of my BFFs from BYU came down in April for her spring break and got to stay with us for a few days. And one night we had a little Foxy 204 reunion (minus Miranda and Kimmie). Another night we went with some Bunco girls to see Bride Wars at the dollar theater. Oh- FUNNY! I seriously laughed quite a bit at all the antics girls can do to each other. Anyway YAY for Girls nights, and hopefully many more! (HINT- anyone up for another movie night? To see Lisa's Boyfriend?

Favorite Lily Quote of the Week

When trying to get her to eat her Broccoli, she responded, "Mom, I like it, I want to eat it, I just don't like the name of it!"

Happy Mother's Day

This is just a silly picture of our first sunburn of the year, YAY! But I think I've realized this Mother's Day how much it really isn't for mothers. Well, it is, and it's great to get a day-off from cooking and the opportunity to sleep in or take a nap (believe me, you have no idea how wonderful that is!), but let me explain. I think that while the rest of the world knows about us and loves us, they really remember on Mother's Day and devote talks about us in church, and crafts for us in school. But we already know we ROCK, right? We see it everyday as we are watching our children grow and learn, in every song we sing, and story we tell, and "present" our three year old brings us, and the chubby baby hand on our face that is covered with sticky goo. We KNOW we are doing the work that we are supposed to be doing and we get small rewards everyday for it. But I think Mother's Day is a good reminder for all the other people in our life- to just remember and to realize just how awesome a work it really is. I hope this makes sense, I'm not trying to promote my greatness or anything like that, but I really feel blessed that I am a Mother to these beautiful girls and I try to live everyday to deserve all their love and the blessings that come with this adventure.

Lily's words:
What is a mother's job? "To clean the dish, and the washer, and drink water, and clean the whole house, and clean up my room with me, and play games with me, and make watermelon, and read a book, and make right choices, and clean with the vacuum."

Wedding Dress

So this set of pictures is from a night a few weeks ago when Lily asked to put on my wedding dress and watch our wedding video (something she has done more than once). It is so funny because seriously both girls just sat and watched it for a bit. And Lily then asks me for days after this, when she is going to get to marry dad, and that it will be okay because we can share him together.

Ella doing her flopping/flapping wet fish on dry land impression.

She LOVED looking at herself in the mirror in the dress and posing for me. And don't you love her bouquet of beaded flowers, she found them in my craft room and who knows what they are really for exactly.

I can't wait- okay I can- for the day when she gets to wear her own white dress because they day I wore this one was oh so wonderful. (I know that was cheesy)

Spring Break

Wow, so way back in March my family came up for a visit during their spring break and we LOVED having them here, now one of my official jobs in life is to remind them as much as possible that they MUST move here SOON. Anyway they had room this trip to bring up this little table and chairs that was actually given to me for my first birthday. I love that so much of my old stuff is getting passed on to my girls. Lily of course has made it her official tea party table.
The boys were playing video games a lot, which I love because Chad gets it all out of his system when their here and doesn't have to play again until the next time they come.

Ella wearing, not too happily, Lily's Easter hat that Grandma Martin sent her.
Lily, getting sucked into watching the video games a bit.

I LOVE this one of My mom and Lily who seriously follows my mom everywhere when she's here, it is so cute how she just adores her.

Spring Break for my family was like a month ago and I am just now blogging about it. But it was soo fun having them and I can not wait until they move here in the near future! YAY!

Funny Girls

K, I love so many random things about this video. Ella's dancing up and down, and putting both feet up on the car. Her fascination with the winnie-the-pooh car and how she always sticks her hand down the steering wheel to touch the bear and gets her chubby little hand stuck. I Love Lily's singing "Fabulous" and "The Show" because I can't even tell you how many times I've heard those songs sung over and over and over. I love her indecisivness over whether or not she wants to sing even though she asked me to tape her singing her songs. That is her personality right now, testing me and always wanting the opposite of what I suggest even if she really DOES want it. Also the mood swings and how when she is done she's done! I know I seem like a total pagent mom having her sing on these videos, but she really is singing ALL DAY LONG, and I just want to get it on tape before she changes her playlist and I forget how funny she is, and of course when the camera comes on she forgets all the words after singing it perfectly 37 times in a row!
